As someone who is slowly groping towards the concept of writing my own life story, I found Clover’s approach to writing memoirs that are, in a sense, extended meditations on the way a particular value such as home has played out in her life, very interesting. A very candid and thoughtful conversation, it gave me a lot of material to think about

I will watch this on repeat for a while. I struggle with why I bother to write drafts of memoir, especially about the most traumatic and confusing things. Can it be helpful to anyone other than myself. Yes it can. I also love Rothko. The Rothko Chapel in Houston has been a sacred space for me.
